Linking its patent-based R&D capabilities and Korea’s manufacturing infrastructure with local business support… Expanding into a global market entry project
Latitude81 (LATITUDE 81) announced today (October 7) that it held an exchange meeting with a delegation from Puerto Rico at Chungbuk Techno Park and will move forward with the commercialization of private-brand (PB) products for overseas business partners.
Based on Korea’s R&D and manufacturing infrastructure and Latitude81’s product development expertise, the two parties plan to develop brands tailored to local customers in Puerto Rico and formulate market-entry strategies. The project aims to combine the customer trust and market experience accumulated by local professionals with the product competitiveness of PB brands provided by Latitude81.
Latitude81 will identify customers’ key concerns and preferences and translate them into specific product concepts, while providing guidance on overall development—from ingredient selection to formulation and packaging production requirements.
The company will also share practical expertise covering the entire process from product planning to launch preparation. This includes a comprehensive review of initial production quantities and costs, product specifications, and development timelines, followed by decisions on subsequent products and production scale based on local customer response. The objective is to help overseas business partners establish their own brands and provide the development conditions and support necessary for actual commercialization.
In the ingredient segment, partner company BJY Inc. will introduce its Pepta Lift, Pepta Grow, and EGF series and present strategies for applying the research background of each ingredient to product development. Ingredients suited to the intended purposes of skin and scalp products will be reviewed and connected to formulations and product concepts to define opportunities for brand differentiation by business partner. The program will also include a visit to BJY Inc.’s research facilities to provide an overview of the ingredient R&D environment.
Based on its long-standing research with research institutions, Latitude81 has established a technological development foundation in the scalp and skin sectors. The company has completed applications for a total of four patents, including two related to complex active-ingredient compositions and two related to targeted delivery systems, and expects registration within October.
The patent-pending technologies include ▲ a synthetic composition targeting keratinocytes and fibroblasts ▲ multi-stage nanoencapsulation for follicular delivery ▲ a biomimetic scaffold culture system for skin delivery. Latitude81 plans to connect the direction of its patent research and its partners’ ingredient development capabilities with product planning for overseas business partners. Product differentiation strategies will also be considered, taking into account both ingredient composition and delivery methods.
At the event, the delegation examined samples, toners, and essences and discussed the development direction of products and brands envisioned by the visiting group.
The exchange between Latitude81 and the Puerto Rico delegation is drawing attention as a collaborative model that connects Korea’s cosmetics R&D and manufacturing capabilities with the brand commercialization efforts of overseas local professionals. Going forward, Latitude81 plans to expand this “overseas PB brand commercialization” model globally.
