BJY Inc. a company specializing in the development of cosmetic ingredients and biomaterials, has completed patent registration for the anti-wrinkle efficacy and production process of its proprietary next-generation peptide ingredient, BJY-PeptaLift-1™. The patent, titled “Yeast Fermentation Production of Peptide SNAP-8 Derivatives for Improving Skin Wrinkles and Use Thereof,” was registered under Patent No. 10-2854635.

BJY-PeptaLift-1™ is a novel peptide ingredient officially listed in the International Cosmetic Ingredient Dictionary (ICID). According to the company, the ingredient has gained recognition for its differentiated technology as well as its quality and safety.

BJY-PeptaLift-1™ acts on the SNAP-25 binding site to inhibit neurotransmitter signals responsible for muscle contraction, thereby helping improve wrinkles around the eyes.

While its mechanism of action is similar to that of conventional Botox-like peptides such as Argireline and SNAP-8, BJY Inc. has achieved clear differentiation in both functionality and productivity by applying its fermentation-based PMF (Peptide Multimer Fermentation) platform technology.

Through its PMF technology, the company has achieved more than 10 times higher productivity while reducing purification costs by approximately 83% compared with conventional methods. BJY-PeptaLift-1™ is therefore positioned as an advanced peptide ingredient offering efficacy, safety, and economic advantages.

Clinical Studies Confirm Safety and Efficacy

In a human application study conducted by the Korea Institute of Dermatological Sciences, BJY-PeptaLift-1™ recorded a reaction index of 0 and zero adverse skin reactions in a skin irritation patch test involving 32 participants, confirming a high level of safety among all subjects.

In a four-week study evaluating improvement in crow’s feet, BJY-PeptaLift-1™ demonstrated improvement rates of 8.58% at 100 ppm, 8.73% at 200 ppm, and 11.53% at 300 ppm. These results were superior to the 8.13% improvement observed with 300 ppm SNAP-8, which was used as the control.

The ingredient also demonstrated a 32.32% inhibition rate of SNARE complex formation and showed no cytotoxicity in an in vitro evaluation using human keratinocytes, supporting both its anti-wrinkle mechanism and safety profile.

High-Concentration Eye Cream Scheduled for Official Launch in January

Based on the patent, clinical data, and demonstrated reliability of the ingredient, BJY Inc. plans to officially launch the BJY Vibration Radiance Eye Cream, formulated with a high concentration of BJY-PeptaLift-1™, in January. The company plans to strengthen its presence in both the Korean and global anti-aging markets by leveraging the ingredient’s differentiated efficacy, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.

Byungjo Yoo, CEO of BJY Inc. said:

“Through our innovative peptide production and functional ingredient technologies, we aim to strengthen the global competitiveness of K-beauty and provide customers with safe and highly effective solutions.”
