BJY Inc.a company specializing in the development of cosmetic ingredients and biomaterials, announced that it is expanding its fermentation-derived peptide ingredient business based on its proprietary PMF (Peptide Multimer Fermentation) platform.

BJY Inc. is advancing its PMF platform beyond the development of functional peptide ingredients into a comprehensive platform business encompassing custom peptide design, fermentation production, purification, contract manufacturing, and commercialization. The company has recently begun supplying and jointly developing ingredients with Korean cosmetics ODM companies, stating that the business has progressed beyond technology validation into the commercialization stage, with actual revenue being generated.

The PMF platform is BJY Inc.’s proprietary production platform designed to manufacture a wide range of functional peptides with high efficiency and low cost, based on multimer fermentation, selective cleavage, and cost-effective purification technologies. Unlike conventional peptide production methods centered on chemical synthesis, the fermentation-based process provides advantages in both cost competitiveness and production efficiency while enabling the development of customized peptides tailored to customers’ desired functions and applications.

Through its PMF platform, BJY Inc. provides cosmetics and biotechnology companies with services including joint development of functional peptides, fermentation-based peptide ingredient production, B2B ingredient supply, process development, and scale-up. The company is also expanding its platform-based contract manufacturing business, connecting customized functional peptide design with production and commercialization.

According to the company, its peptide ingredient supply business is already generating revenue. As of 2026, BJY Inc. has recorded approximately KRW 700 million in sales by supplying fermentation-derived peptide ingredients to major Korean cosmetics ODM companies. Building on these results, the company is expanding supply and joint development partnerships with leading domestic ODM companies, positioning these achievements as a commercial application of its PMF platform.

The company describes its flagship BJY-PeptaLift™ line as peptide ingredients designed to target neural signaling pathways associated with facial muscle contraction through a mechanism similar to that of botulinum toxin. According to BJY Inc., a human application study using 100 ppm BJY-PeptaLift-4 demonstrated a 21.5% improvement in crow’s feet-related parameters.

Its haircare peptide ingredient BJY-PeptaGrow™ was developed based on thymus-derived peptides and is designed to improve the environment for hair growth through mechanisms associated with dermal papilla cells. The company also reported that a human application study using 50 ppm BJY-PeptaGrow-5 showed a 61.3% reduction in hair shedding.

BJY Inc. plans to further advance its PMF platform by integrating it with AI-based peptide design technology, enhanced skin penetration technology, and next-generation delivery technologies. Through these efforts, the company intends to expand the development of new functional peptides tailored to customer product strategies and market demand, in addition to existing applications such as anti-wrinkle and hair-loss care.

The company is also planning to expand its production infrastructure. BJY Inc. intends to strengthen its R&D capabilities by establishing a corporate R&D center in Iksan and gradually building its own production facilities, creating an integrated foundation spanning R&D, production, and supply. This is expected to reduce production costs and expand customized peptide contract manufacturing.

Since its establishment in 2022, BJY Inc. has established R&D and quality management systems by obtaining certifications including Venture Business Certification and ISO certifications. The company has also expanded its fermentation-derived peptide biomaterials business through external investment.

Meanwhile, BJY Inc. was selected for the 2026 Startup Leap Package operated by Seowon University and is being supported as a promising company. The Startup Leap Package is a government commercialization program designed to support the scale-up of startups between three and seven years old, providing selected companies with commercialization funding of up to KRW 200 million as well as specialized support programs.
